Hobson Pittman (American, 1900-1972) Still Life Pastel on paper, 22 x 17 inches (sight) FRAMED: 30 x 24 inches Signed at lower right: "Hobson Pittman" Born in Epworth, North Carolina, Hobson Pittman moved with his family to Tarboro, North Carolina, in 1906. From 1912 to 1916 he attended the Rouse Art School in Tarboro. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1918, and attended the Pennsylvania State College (1921-22) and the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh (1925-26). Between 1920 and 1931 he spent summers in Woodstock, New York, and studied chiefly with Albert Heckman (1893-1971).
