About the Item

"Self Portrait" is a charcoal drawing on paper by Carol Sternkopf. This black and white sketch is an honest portrait, the artist is calling the viewer to look her in the eye. She is dressed like a normal day, a turtleneck and slightly messy hair. Frame: 16 x 13.5 in BFA in Drawing from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design Now lives in Bend, Oregon Areas of Specialization: Children's potraits, editorial photography Carol Sternkopf is a free lance photographer in Bend, OR. Her clients range from art directors to dog owners to proud parents. When Carol is not photographing or answering her phone, she is most likely skiing or hiking with her loving family and trusty wolf in the beautiful mountain region she resides in. Artist Statement "How I Work" The Outdoor Studio I prefer a photo journalistic approach to imagery rather than a controlled studio. I live and work in a beautiful part of the country, and I love to utilize this fortunate piece of my life in all of my work. It's Black And White With Me I show and print in black-and-white for many reasons, from the way I think, to my personal taste for the monochromatic image. The Print I thrive on the skill of digital printing. I love to see my clients respond to the beauty and touch of the archival black-and-white print. The papers and inks available today for black-and-white digital printing are astounding. I work with the best products on the market to compliment my work. The Equipment Factor I currently shoot with a Nikon 200, and for production, I use an Epson 3800 printer, and the highest quality papers such as Epson, Crane, and Hamenmule.
