About the Item
Grimace is a beautiful brown and black China ink drawing and watercolor on wire rod paper, made by an anonymous artist of the late 18th century.
A precious old master's original drawing, representing a male portrait in profile with accentuated facial features, emphasized also by his strong questioning expression of dismay. The drawing shows a dense and skillful hatching with interweaving lines.
In good conditions, except for a usual yellowing of the paper and some sporadic stains.
