About
Eric Walter Powell (1886-1933) was an English artist, Eton College House Master and Art Teacher. He was also a rower who competed for Great Britain in the 1908 Olympics, winning a Bronze medal. During WW1 Powell served as a squadron commander in The Flying Corps and later in the R.A.F.
An accomplished watercolour artist, Powell was known for his accuracy of detail and variety of technique. Signed E. W. Powell and dated 1930 this is a beautiful atmospheric painting of Eton College Chapel.
