About the artist.
Frederick Leo Hunter was born in New York City in 1858. He was known for street scene paintings and etchings of New York City as well as coastal marine views on both sides of the Long Island Sound, Frederick Hunter lived at Ossining, Cold Spring on the Hudson river, New York. He died in 1943
He has numerous exhibitions nationwide, including the National Academy of Design, 1881-86; Brooklyn Art Association, 1881-86; and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, 1881-82, 1884. The work of Frederick Leo Hunter is held in numerous private collections in New York city and nationwide
