About

Symbols is an original artwork realized by Adolphe Giraldon in the first half of the XX Century. Original china ink and watercolor on paper. Passepartout included (cm 26 x 37). Very good conditions. Simple and elegant work representing two misterious symbols with different colors: the right symbol is on olive green background and the left one is on ivory background. The two figures presents the initials "G" and "E" on the margins of the triangle. The work has been realized by Adolphe Giraldon (Marseille, 1855 - 1933) a French expert bijou and furniture designer, as well as a talented weaver and book illustrator. He became teacher in Glasgow and illustrated several works; among the others: Rolla by Mousset, the Eclogue by Virgil and Le Jardin de l'Infante by Samain. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price. The shipping may require additional handling days to require the licence according to the final destination of the artwork.
