About

Love is an original drawing in pastels, realized by Novella Parigini (1921-1993). In very good conditions. Hand-signed and the date "1958", on the lower right. The artwork represents love: mouths and hearts of a bright red. Novella Parigini (1921-1993): Novella Parigini was born in Chiusi on April 29, 1921. She attended the academy of the "beaux arts" in Paris and obtained a diploma as an art teacher. Its name is linked to the years 50-60, those of the "Dolce Vita". The characterizing aspects of his art are the cat's eyes in the male and female figures, pronounced cheekbones, turgid and fleshy lips, large breasts and the repetition of the subjects that anticipated those processes of massification that only a few years later re-proposed artists like Andy Warhol . Her experience mixes with existentialism, feminism and surrealism, and then flows into Pop art. Novella then entered the Parisian intellectual circles immediately after the war. For the painter, being an existentialist meant being free from any tendency and any political and sentimental link. This great painter has exhibited in many cities around the world, including China, and we find many works in numerous churches; the French post office also issued a stamp reproducing one of his paintings. One of the initiatives of this great woman, who has always fought for emancipation, was to commit herself to the defense of Via Margutta, threatened by building speculation that wanted to transform the art ateliers into mini-apartments, and the exhibition of the "Hundred Painters" which she wanted since 1955 and in which she participated together with established and above all unknown artists, to offer them an opportunity. Years later, then, Novella Parigini is still remembered by Remo Panacchia and Elvino Echeoni, founders of the World of Art, in the Palazzo Margutta, a street so dear to her. An exhibition not to be missed: it is an event that will be advertised by the mass media, television, radio, newspapers, also characterized by numerous invitations, playbills and posters.
