Brown patinated bronze, signed, foundry stamp Blanchet,cast n° 6/8, JDV stamp. Limited posthumous edition of 8 castings plus 4 artist proofs with the legal successors agreement. Comments : Indenbaum studies at the Odessa School then he settles in Paris in 1911 in the Ruche where he frequently sees Soutine, Kremègne and Chagall. Until 1919, he works in Bourdelle’s workshop, a former practitioner of Rodin. Indenbaum’s sculpture follows the same logic as Maillol’s ; the model comes from the old laws of proportions ihnerited from the greek classicism, robustness of the shapes, everything being linked up in a rare purity.
